MINUTES OF THE FRIENDS OF THE MERRICK LIBRARY MEETING THURSDAY, JANUARY 30, 2014 Lori Stayer opened the meeting at 4:35 PM. Present: Lori Stayer (President), David R. Stayer (Secretary), Marion Ormsten (Correspondence Chair) and Joan Sculli. The minutes of the December 2013 meeting were read. Joan moved and Marion seconded their acceptance as read. The motion passed. Diane Christie had called in the report of the treasurer which Lori gave. Savings account $3,488.47 and checking $221.28. David moved and Joan seconded acceptance of the report of the treasurer. The motion passed. Book sale brought in $391.00, raffle netted $30.00 and membership brought in $80.00. The drawing of the raffle will be delayed. Because the bags cost $176.45, we voted to raise the price of each filled bag to $10.00. We will issue a protocol among the Friends to communicate with each other and the Merrick Library. The President will receive all communications. We will participate during bring your children to the Merrick Library on Saturday, February 1, 2014. We will sell baked goodies. Our next meeting is Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 4:30 PM at the Merrick Library and all Friends are invited to attend. The meeting was adjourned at 5:35 PM. Respectfully submitted, David R.
