February 2014 Minutes

Lori opened the meeting at 4:35 pm.. Present: Lori Stayer (President), Diane Christie (Treasurer), David R. Stayer (Secretary), Shirley Sherwin and Joan Sculli. The minutes from January 2014 were read and the following correction was noted. The Friends savings account should have been $3,288.47. Joan moved and Diane seconded the motion that the minutes for January be approved as corrected The motion passed. Report of the Treasurer: Diane reported that Friends savings has $3,649.47 and the Friends checking has $221.28. Book sale brought in $221.00, the bake sale brought in $88.00, raffle brought in $47.00 and membership brought in $5.00. Shirley moved and David seconded that the treasurer's report be accepted. motion passed. Old Business: There continues to be a problem with the heat at the Library Wing. . The bake sale went well as reported. New Business: Joan has brought in Hair Care Accessories that we might sell to raise money for the Friends. We will ask if we can sell these items in the Merrick Library lobby. Volunteer schedule set up for March. The next meeting of the Friends of the Merrick Library will be on Thursday, March 27, 2014 beginning at 4:30 pm. All meetings are held at the Merrick Library and Friends are invited to attend.
